In addition to Z Backscatter technology and high-energy and dual-energy transmission, AS&E offers:

  • Radioactive Threat Detection (RTD), an option on selected AS&E® detection systems, can detect both neutrons (nuclear WMD) and gamma rays (dirty bombs) during routine X-ray inspections without impacting throughput.
  • Forwardscatter® technology, available on Z Backscatter systems, provides a second scatter perspective and displays dense regions of scanned vehicles such as the shielding found around nuclear weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and other metallic threats.

Z BACKSCATTER

Z Backscatter® technology, pioneered and perfected by AS&E, provides photo-like images that reveal organic threats and contraband, including explosives, plastic weapons, and drugs.

TRANSMISSION

Transmission X-rays provide high-energy with high-performance for greater penetration and detection—even in dense cargo. Dual-energy transmission X-rays deliver excellent image quality as well as the ability to discriminate among different material types.
